Wangu, My Mine, My Home

I met you at university in two thousand six

Just a friend beside me in those younger days

Then somehow you became my safest place

My best friend in a crowded world of change

Life took us down different roads

I wore a ring, and you wore one too

I became a mother through tears I hid

Trying to survive what love should never do

Then I gave up on the pain

And somehow grace brought me back to you

We had three more children together
