Mama's room
Mama's room ,while growing up ,mama's room smell so special,
the pleasant smell of baby's oil, powder ,baby's cream aroma rented the room, the pleasant aroma of baby's cream eddies all sense of smell.
Many years later papa arrived from war front, they say afar land across the ocean.
He was happy clutching a bottle of whisky, each moment of his happiness.sometimes he become depressed and sad, sreaming in his sleep.
Quickly, everything changed ,mama became pale, papa became a stranger clutching a bottle of whisky.
Papa was ashame of sleeping and screaming.
War took away papa i never knew .
Demons of war tormented
The stranger i never knew.
His room smell of cigratte smoke and whisky, sometimes the smell of balm and methol scare me.
his shame of sreaming in the sleep, scare me and my mama. But we still love him.
It pains me,to know we are walking away with our luggage.
Ten years later,i went every where in search of my father.i went to the old street where we used to live.
I learnt he died of medication overdose.
War took away my papa from me,i miss the stranger i never knew he was my father.
A thousand roses at his graveside,i miss your sense of smell ,the smell of smoke and fermented drinks
I miss the stranger who's now my father.
I asked the people who he was, they said to me:
Look yourself in the mirror you and find him.
Your smile,your facial expression.
Demons of war tormented
The stranger i never knew.
His room smell of cigratte smoke and whisky, sometimes the smell of balm and methol scare me.
They said,he was handsome in his twenties,
Strong in his thirties
Wise in his fourtis but came home retired
The demons of war, tomented him and took my father away from me.
Take your laurels and return my father.
A thousand roses at his graveside,i miss your sense of smell ,the smell of smoke and fermented drinks
Take your laurels and return my father.
