Kilio Changu

A song made by Sir Nixy

Kilio Changu

A song made by Sir Nixy

Song Title: Kilio Changu (My Cry)

Tempo: Slow, Melancholic (75-80 BPM)

Instrumentation: Acoustic guitar, deep acoustic bass, weeping violin/fiddle, and a slow, thumping Bongo Flava percussion element.

Intro

(Instrumentation: Low, rhythmic ocean waves crashing distantly. A single, heavy acoustic guitar plucks a minor chord slowly.)

Sir Nixy (Deep, heavy sigh): Yeah... Sir Nixy on this one...

Vocal Cue:

Sir Nixy: It's a painful journey, man. Sometimes you feel like the world is against you... Oh Lord... feel my pain. Mmh, Baba sikia...

(Violin enters, crying softly in the background as the guitar rhythm establishes itself)

Verse 1

(Instrumentation: Acoustic guitar plucks slowly, heavy and deep. Bass drops in low to ground the root notes.)

Vocal Cue:

Jua linachomoza, naamka salama

Lakini moyoni, kimejaa kiama

Kila hatua ninayopiga mbele

Inarudi nyuma, naambulia kelele

Nimejaribu kupambana usiku na mchana

Mbona milango yote imefungwa kabisa?

Vocal Cue:

I’m breaking down inside, can anyone see?

This heavy shadow is swallowing me.

Pre-Chorus

(Instrumentation: Guitar builds tension by holding suspended chords longer. Bass swells. Percussion completely drops out to create a vacuum effect.)

Vocal Cue:

I’m running out of breath, I’m running out of time,

Trying to climb this mountain, but I lose my mind.

The harder that I push, the further that I fall,

I’m screaming in the dark, but no one hears my call.

(Brief 0.5-second silence on the instruments)

Sir Nixy (Whispered): Yeah, my back is against the wall...

Chorus

(Instrumentation: Full Bongo Flava rhythm kicks in softly. The violin weeps loudly in a high counter-melody behind the main vocal line.)

Vocal Cue:

Maisha haya magumu, nitatoka vipi?

Every time I work hard, thinking I’m finally free,

Nadondoka chini, nazama baharini,

The more I fight the waves, the more I sink into the sea.

Kwani nina kosa gani, niliwahi kufanya?

Mbona wengine wanacheka, mimi nalia?

What did I do to deserve this heavy rain?

Why am I the only one drowning in this pain?

Ee Mola wa rehema, sikia kilio changu,

Oh Lord of mercy, hear my cry tonight.

Verse 2

(Instrumentation: The slow, thumping Bongo Flava rhythm continues, keeping the groove steady but melancholic.)

Vocal Cue:

Machozi yamekausha mashavu yangu yote

Natafuta jibu kwenye giza la usiku kucha

Wenzangu wanapata, mimi nakosa hata chembe

Mkono wa shida umenishika koo, unanikaba

Vocal Cue:

I cry out to the sky, but the echo is hollow

Trapped in this maze of endless sorrow.

Je, hii ndio hatima bado niko hai, Sir Nixy?

Mbona nateseka hivi, bila kosa lolote?

Pre-Chorus

(Instrumentation: Percussion drops out again. Guitar chords hang suspended. Heavy vocal reverb activates.)

Vocal Cue:

I’m running out of breath, I’m running out of time,

Trying to climb this mountain, but I lose my mind.

The harder that I push, the further that I fall,

I’m screaming in the dark, but no one hears my call.

Sir Nixy: Yeah, my back is against the wall...

Chorus

(Instrumentation: Full instrumental peak. Violin at its most expressive, weeping alongside the lead vocal.)

Bridge

(Instrumentation: Percussion stops completely. Violin holds a single, low, mourning note. The acoustic guitar is stripped back to a simple, raw strum.)

Vocal Cue:

(Background Ad-libs: Sir Nixy... Lord hear me now...)

Binadamu wananicheka, wanasema nimefeli

Wanajua nimekwisha, sina thamani tena

But they don’t know the battles I fight inside

They don’t see the tears that I try to hide.

Vocal Cue:

Oh Lord... feel my pain.

Outro: The Turning Point (Hope)

(Instrumentation: The tempo remains slow, but the acoustic guitar chord changes from the sad minor keys into a bright, warm, hopeful Major key. Violin transitions from "weeping" to a smooth, uplifting melody.)

Vocal Cue:

Lakini najisemea moyoni, sitakata tamaa

Machozi haya ya leo, yatakuwa furaha

Ipo siku moja, chini ya hili jua

Giza litatoweka, mawingu yatafunguka

One day under the sky, I will break away

The storm will pass, and I’ll find my way.

Nitatoka tu... ipo siku.

Vocal Cue:

Sir Nixy will rise again.

(Instrumentation: A single, long, warm acoustic guitar strum fades out completely into silence)

Common questions
How will my song appear on Spotify?
Songs are released under the Frobits label — the artist credit reads "Frobits feat. <your songwriter name>" on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music and every other platform. This lets us handle the platform relationships, rights paperwork and payouts on your behalf, while you get full songwriter credit on every release.
How are royalties split?
Streaming royalties are split 80% to you, 20% to Frobits. Our 20% covers the distribution infrastructure, royalty collection across 150+ platforms, rights administration and payout handling. Your 80% songwriter share comes to you each payout cycle once platforms report their streams (typically every 1–2 months).
How much do I earn per stream?
Each platform pays a different per-stream rate — Spotify pays roughly $0.003–$0.005, Apple Music around $0.01, YouTube Music about $0.002. Earnings depend on listener country, subscription type and how often your song is played. Your 80% share is calculated on the gross streaming revenue, with no cap — the more plays, the more you earn.
When and how do I get paid?
Streaming platforms report royalties to us about 2–3 months after the streams happen. We then pay your 80% share out by bank transfer, PayPal or mobile money once you cross a $10 minimum balance. Statements ship by email each payout cycle so you can see exactly what each platform paid and how the split was applied.
Who owns the song — me or Frobits?
You keep songwriter ownership. Songs are released under the Frobits label as "Frobits feat. <your name>", and Frobits acts as the distributor on the recording — that's what enables our 80/20 split and the platform delivery. The songwriter credit and your moral rights to the work stay with you, and you can request a takedown by emailing hello@frobits.ai.
What does the annual subscription cover?
Your annual subscription creates a dedicated artist profile for you and distributes your first song to 150+ platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Amazon, Deezer, Tidal & more). Each additional song you upload after that costs just in your local currency — no cap on how many you add. The 15% royalty share is separate — that covers ongoing rights admin, royalty collection and payout handling. If you cancel, your songs are taken down at the end of the period and you keep every payout earned up to then.
How long until my song is live?
Most platforms publish within 1–3 weeks of submission. Spotify and Apple Music are usually fastest (a few days), while smaller platforms can take longer. We email you the moment each major platform confirms your song is live.
How does income from TikTok / Reels work?
With the Social Media Pack, your song lands inside TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts and Facebook music libraries. Every time a creator picks your song for a video, you earn a share of the platform's creator-music pool. Payouts work the same way as streaming — they show up in your distributor account each month.
Why do I need my real legal name?
Streaming platforms require a real legal songwriter name so royalty collection societies can pay you. Your artist name (the name fans see on Spotify) can be anything — only the songwriter credit needs to match your ID. Without it your song will be rejected at submission.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes. Reply cancel distribution on WhatsApp or email hello@frobits.ai any time. Your song stays live until the end of the paid period, then it's taken down from streaming platforms. You keep every royalty earned up to that point.
Still have questions?
Send us a message on WhatsApp or email hello@frobits.ai — we usually reply within a few hours.
